Introduction to IT&MS

IT&MS is comprised of a group of dedicated technicians with many years of service to the College.  In August 2022, the team will be relocated into the new Technology Centre, located in  E-block, 2nd floor.  The Technology Centre will provide a space for technicians to work collaboratively to build and deploy effective technical solutions across the campus, in support of our faculty and staff.

IT&MS support has been structured according to the following pillars or specialties:

  • Infrastructure (hardware support)
  • Applications (software support)
  • Network & Security
  • Audio/Visual support

This support structure is aligned with how tickets are entered in JIRA, the on-line ticket management solution.

Champlain College St-Lambert is a Windows-based campus.  While we do offer a media arts and computer science program supporting the Mac OS platform, technical support is provided for Windows-based devices.

Technical Support & Ticket Entry

All faculty and staff requiring technical support are asked to enter a JIRA ticket.  JIRA is used to provide a tracking of what work was done, how that work aligns to the support pillars, and track the team’s responsiveness to resolving issues.
