This month, students in the Sport Marketing and Management program raised a total of $13,148 for the Montreal Canadians Childrens’ Foundation.
The program partnered with the Montreal Canadians Childrens’ Foundation in 2010 and this brings the 14-year total donations to $133,000, according to teacher Charles Royce who coordinates the yearly effort.
At this level of donations, Royce said that Champlain College is now one of the major sponsors of the Foundation, on a level with many large corporate sponsors.
The SMM students plan and execute charity tournaments under the umbrella of the Champlain Cup to raise funds for the Foundation.
The students organize ice hockey, flag football, soccer, basketball and futsal tournaments to raise money and gain skills and experience as part of their sixth semester Marketing Practicum course. Congratulations to all involved!
